A series of banners, prepared specially for the exhibition В«Vis-a-Vis. Actual dialoquesв». The banners is the reaction to the works of six other participants. After analyzing other people’s works the artist has identified the main author’s ideas and “fix” them on the drawing banners. As a result, on the one hand, he removes and appropriates the thoughts of others, on the other hand, he “mimics” with them.

Following on from a 2009 artwork based on a poll, Shabohin has produced a new work for the CAC testing opinions about a range of topical social issues that visitors to the exhibition can express an opinion on. Visitors can choose to vote with cards printed with contentious, comical, and artistic imagery and drop their ballots into the atypically transparent ballot box, via the Yes or No slot. The work rehearses the dream of Belarusians to participate in free-and-fair elections at home; and encourages the Lithuanian audience to think about their own relations to the process of democratic plebiscite and invites it into an art context. Ironically, in the work despite the voters intention yes, or, no, the ballots end up in a single and undifferentiated pile.
